Kim Toffoletti surveys the ideas of this influential - often provocative - French thinker as they relate to todayis image-saturated environment. She demonstrates their relevance to analysing contemporary visual phenomena such as advertising, photography, reality TV, fashion, art, pornography and virtual reality.
