It looks in detail at the positions of both India and Pakistan and the responses of the United States, the Soviet Union and China and their respective strategic positions. This book includes contributions on the larger question of how nuclear pariah states pose a separate problem of nuclear proliferation as well as on the broader challenges to the nuclear non-proliferation regime.
