Jacques Maritain on Remaining Human in the 21st Century

Walter Schultz argues that Jacques Maritain has much to offer the 21st century by way of critiquing both atomistic individualism within liberal democracies and the rise of autocracy and totalitarian control in response, along with critiquing the merger of autocracy and Christian Nationalism. Maritain describes how nurturing person and community can circumvent anarchic individualism and monistic totalitarianism: two sides of the same solipsistic coin emerging from centuries of misguided theory and praxis.
