Technological Growth and Social Change (1969) examines the changes to society brought about by rapid developmental changes. The failure of traditional concepts to explain a rapidly changing social world calls for a redirection of effort, for the opening of new avenues of inquiry. This book represents such an attempt, and challenges the conservative Western concepts of development, classical economics, and the Western economic order.
