With postcolonial readings from Asia and Africa, readings that touch on race from very different and yet very American perspectives, and feminist readings informed by Mexico, Turkey, and Botswana; these readings reflect a wide range of experiences and understandings of John's gospel. Each essay grounds its analysis both in the scholarly conversation and in the writer's own community and origins.
