Green’s book is a delightful introduction to a knowledge of trees. The emphasis is, to a large extent, on the unique characteristics of trees and on unusual facts concerning their history and use. There are two full pages of photographs for almost every tree described: one of the tree in its natural setting, the other of detail that will aid in identification.
