This proceeding is the permanent record of a “virtual” symposium on Mine Simulation held via the Internet. During a two-week period the symposium’s website provided a forum for the presentation, discussion and criticism of state of-the-art and emerging technologies in high-tech domains such as system modelling and simulation, artificial intelligence, expert systems and neural networks, as they apply in mining.
