Modernidades ibéricas / The Routledge Companion to Iberian Modernities (1870-1930) presenta una visión abarcadora y dinámica de las relaciones establecidas en el contexto cultural ibérico en torno al problema de la modernidad a finales del siglo XIX y principios del siglo XX. Los ensayos de este volumen destacan las conexiones entre distintas propuestas ibéricas de modernidad; cada capítulo considera al menos dos esferas nacionales o lingüísticas diferentes.

Esta colección examina manifestaciones culturales entrelazadas entre España y Portugal mediante trabajos de expertos en disciplinas que van desde los estudios literarios y la musicología hasta la geografía, la historia del arte y la arquitectura, y que nos ofrecen nuevas perspectivas sobre las modernidades ibéricas. Dividido en tres partes, cada una estructurada en torno a un tema unificador (historia, espacios e intercambios), se exploran diferentes áreas clave de la modernidad en un solo volumen.

Los veintiún capítulos serán una lectura de referencia para estudiantes e investigadores interesados en los estudios culturales hispánicos e ibéricos.

Modernidades ibéricas / The Routledge Hispanic Studies Companion to Iberian Modernities (1870-1930) presents a comprehensive and dynamic vision of the relationships established in the Iberian cultural context around the problem of modernity in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century.

The essays in this volume highlight connections between Iberian proposals of modernity with each chapter considering at least two different national or linguistic spheres. This collection examines interconnected cultural manifestations of Spain and Portugal, with experts from disciplines such as literary studies, musicology, geography, art history and architecture presenting diverse perspectives on Iberian modernities. Divided into three parts, each structured around a unifying theme (history, spaces, and exchanges), different key areas of modernity are explored in one comprehensive volume.

The twenty-one original and authoritative chapters will be key reading for students and scholars interested in Hispanic and Iberian cultural studies.
