First published in 1970, Residential Life with Children gives a detailed account of residential work with children. The author looks at various kinds of residential institutions, the needs of the children, and the ways in which these needs are met. A section is devoted to important questions concerning the institution and its staff, and there is a full examination of residential care as a method of social work. The discussion is set within the framework of relevant theory, and the influences of Social Service and Government organizations are fully considered.
