Fostering Asian Regional Cooperation and Open Regionalism in an Unsteady World

This publication summarizes the key discussions of the 2019 conference on regional cooperation and integration (RCI) organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). It underscores the need for ADB developing member countries (DMCs) to work closely with the private sector to fi nance climate-resilient infrastructure and bolster inclusive growth as well as harness new technologies. Drawing on insights from the conference, the publication shows why DMCs need to act collectively to strengthen their green energy capabilities and develop a shared ocean-based economy. It also emphasizes how cross-border and regional cooperation can improve trade, reduce inequalities, and help build sustainableŽlivelihoods.
