After a brief encounter with a mature Marlee, her story begins in 1964 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She is three years old, and it is the eve of a heartbreaking tragedy. Soon, the girl’s rebellious nature is revealed. She lives as if nothing bad will happen because the bad thing has already happened. Growing up in a simpler time, with eighty-six kids on her street and thirty-five first cousins on one side of her family, Marlee’s story provides plenty of fodder to run with. And run she does!
