Over 600 million years ago, long before dinosaurs and many animals we know today, jellyfish were already swimming in the waters.

Until recently, they were thought to be plants. Now we know that these marine animals are strong swimmers, use their tentacles to hunt several prey at once and can even produce their own bioluminescence. Due to their ability to easily adapt to different environments, jellyfish have evolved and thrived despite pollution, overfishing and a rise in water temperature.

Inspired by the author's childhood experience snorkeling with her aunt who was a science teacher, Jellyfish: Drifters of the Deep explores fascinating jellyfish facts, including information on their various species, anatomy, life cycles, venom, hunting strategies and more.
