Focusing on character usage, vocabulary, syntactic patterns and cultural elements such as honorifics, idioms and vulgar language, the analysis reveals the distinctive differences between translated and original Chinese film texts. It also compares official dubbing translations with online fan subtitles. Using quantitative metrics such as frequency, lexical grade and multiplier values, the book provides practical translation strategies and stylistic benchmarks for English-Chinese film translation.
