This book presents the psychoanalytic writings of the Greek Surrealist Andreas Embiricos in English for the first time.

A pioneer of psychoanalysis in Greece, Embiricos produced two remarkable case studies that highlight his unique practice of psychoanalysis, clinically rigorous and resolutely Surrealist in its belief in the revolutionary potentialities of Eros. The volume also includes a lecture on psychoanalytic technique from the 1940s, together with several texts on the life and work of Princess Marie Bonaparte, a close friend and collaborator of Embiricos. Complementing these writings are an interview in which Embiricos reflects on his psychoanalytic practice, and four scholarly essays examining key dimensions of his psychoanalytic career and intellectual legacy.
