Today, outer space is widely utilised for a range of military operations. After outlining these activities, the book proceeds to examine their lawfulness in accordance with the applicable international legal regime's rubrics. It also reviews the proposals put forward so far, both within and outside the United Nations, as well as the positions held by leading space powers and their allies. Finally, the author offers recommendations for the future, emphasising the necessity for the development of new international regulations to prevent militarisation from extending into outer space.
