Moreover, the author goes on to consider Greimas’ work against the latest examinations of discourse in philosophy, depth psychology, and literary criticism. He tests Greimas’ semiotic square against Derridean deconstruction, Lacanian psychoanalysis, and the literary analyses of Paul de Man.
