This is a compilation of over 170 technical recommendations prepared by RILEM Technical Committeesbetween 1972 and 1994. These give authoritative procedures for the testing and use of many construction materials. The book presents an authoritative source of reference for engineers, scientists and technologists involved in the development of construction materials, and for testing organisations carrying out both routine and specialised on materials and structures. It brings together in a single volume for the first time the complete collection of Recommendations which are the culmination of the work of expert international committees up to publication.
The topics covered by the Recommendations are divided into nine parts: concretes and cements: materials and technology; concretes and cements: experimental and theoretical studies; special concretes; other inorganic materials (geomaterials and metals); hydrocarbons and synthetics; timber; structures and masonry; durability and service life; testing equipment. A list of the RILEM Committees responsible for preparing the Recommendations is included, and the Recommendations are fully indexed.
